Behold: Spiced Pecans

I'm not really sure what I did in the kitchen before I learned of and how to cook spiced pecans.  They literally taste good on anything from hearty salads to deviled eggs.  The best part about them is that their touch of flavor is totally up to you.  For mine I like a kick of sweet heat, so I add equal parts of sweet, salty, and spicy ingredients.  Take a peak!

My Personal Spiced Pecans:

1 package of chopped Pecans (I typically bag them and whack for a minute with a wine bottle, whichever you prefer)

2 tablespoons of Butter

Sprinkles of each of these:

Brown Sugar

Garlic Salt

Cayenne

Onion Powder

Cinnamon

After mashing/chopping the pecans.  Heat the pan to melt the butter all the way.  Throw the pecans in the pan and add all the seasoning ingredients listed above.  Toss in the pan until browned and fragrant. WHA-LA!

One of my favorite ways to utilize spiced pecans is in a nice hearty salad.  A go-to salad dish of mine is the tasty blackened chicken salad with beets, strawberries, feta and pecans! Serve it up with some sweet potato fries and you are good to go.  Wonderful on a summer afternoon :)
